B&B ACCESS STATEMENT
Access Statement for The Old Rectory Bed and Breakfast, Wheathill, Shropshire, WV166QTWe welcome everyone at The Old Rectory, which is a two storey house offering three bed and breakfast bedrooms. The following statement is a summary of our provision. If you have any specific needs or questions please do email or call us.
Access to The Old Rectory is down a 300 metre gravel track. The area in front of the house is also gravel and there is room for 7-8 cars.
There is a large portico over the front door of the house with a 15cm step. There is another 15cm step up through double front doors into the house. All the public areas downstairs; the hall, the drawing room and the dining room are on the same level as the entrance. The hallway is very large and well lit. The passage leading to the downstairs WC and the boot room is 79 cm wide at its narrowest point. The downstairs WC is 104cm wide and is not suitable for wheelchairs.
All 3 bedrooms are upstairs. There are 11 steps up to a landing, then a turn, two more steps, then another turn, followed by 6 more steps. Each step is 18cm high and there is a wooden banister. All the bedrooms are off the main landing which is very spacious and well lit. 2 bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms. The Green bathroom has a deep, cast iron bath and a separate large shower with a 10cm step. The blue bathroom has a fullsize bath with an overhead shower. The Yellow bathroom has a deep, cast iron slipper bath and a large separate shower with a 10cm step. The Yellow bathroom is not ensuite – the bathroom is accessed down 5 stairs to a half landing which is well lit.
The beds in the Green Room and the Blue Rooms are 60 cms high. They are both super-kingsize doubles, but the Blue room bed can be converted into two, 3ft twins beds. Furniture is movable on request. The Yellow Room has a Kingsize double bed which is 50cm high.
All the rooms are equipped with hairdryers, flatscreen TVs, cordless kettles and beverage trays. There are emergency lighting torches in all rooms and every room is protected by a smoke alarm. Guest can have keys to their own room and a front door key. In the event of a need to evacuate the building there is a second staircase and 3 back doors to the outside.
Assistance dogs are welcome and we are happy to help exercise or feed them on request.

The Old Rectory is a no smoking building.
We can refrigerate small items of food or medication on request.
The mobile reception at The Old Rectory is not very good. Guests can use the landline on request.If you have any dietary requirements, please let us know in advance and we will do our best to accommodate you.
