Families can step inside the Hawker Siddeley Nimrod R.1 XV249 and learn about its intelligence gathering role in the Royal Air Force. Tours will run throughout the day for groups of up to six people, lasting approximately 15 minutes. During the tour visitors will learn about the history of the aircraft, hear about the crews on board and view the sophisticated surveillance equipment up close. Booking is required.

Participants will build and program their own security devices to protect their possessions and secrets. Mindstorms uses a block-based coding language similar to Scratch, which children may be familiar with. No previous experience is required. Brixo is a special type of brick which can be used to create electric circuits built into Lego. Morning Workshop (9am-12pm): Participants will be guided through a number of techniques using various sensors and motors to create responsive circuits and devices. Afternoon Workshop(9am-4pm): Participants will work together in small groups to create a solution using multiple techniques discovered from the morning session.

Showcasing over 50 local creators with a passion for their handmade, handcrafted products and carefully selected vintage wares. Taking place on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 August, and held in the spacious grounds at the RAF Museum Cosford, with the VC10 and Hercules aircraft acting as a backdrop for the festival.

The Magnalonga is a food and drink walk of between 8 - 10 miles. This year it starts and finishes just outside Ludlow - at the Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre. Please follow signs & volunteer instructions of where to park your car! A journey where you combine a walk through unspoilt countryside with some of the best food and drink from Ludlow and across the Welsh Marches.

Morning Workshop(9am-12pm): Participants will explore different types of aircraft in the museum and the theory behind their designs to fulfil mission criteria. Using that knowledge, participants will create their own virtual airplanes using a flight simulator..Afternoon Workshop(9am-16pm): Following on from the morning session, participants compete against each other to design aircraft solve secret missions.
