Open Cockpits Evening

A wide range of aircraft are available for close viewing including; transport aircraft, jet fighters and unique research airframes. Visitors will be able to get a feel for what it was like to fly these much loved machines and in addition, have after-hours access to the museum.

Gardener's Question Time

The event is being organised by the Telford Centre Rotary Club, fundraising for the eradication of polio. Tickets include a tour of Apley Walled Garden, canapes & a drink & the question time, hosted by BBC Radio Shropshire’s Paul Shuttleworth. Panellists will include Chelsea gold medallist (large gardens category) David Wassell & Apley Walled Garden’s Head Gardener Phil Allen who you may have heard regularly on BBC Radio Shropshire’s Gardeners’ Question Time on Sundays at 12noon.

The Great Summer Garden Event

Enioy the beautiful parkland surrounding Cound Hall, open especially for this British Red Cross event for gardeners and shoppers alike. SHREWSBURY FLEA is a fabulous mixture of Antiques and collectables, antique furniture, vintage clothing & fabrics, architectural salvage, reclamation and just that quirky stylish item that will compliment your home. SHREWSBURY FLEA is a relaxed place to both trade and visit with brilliant regular traders and loyal customers on a fantastic showground within walking distance of Shrewsbury Town centre. We regularly see between 2700 - 4300 visitors and between 100 – 150 traders over the weekend and this fair is ever increasing in popularity. Traders can book and pay ONLINE with our new ONLINE booking system.

Macmillan Classic Vehicle Day at Eaton Manor

This Year’s Attractions include: Burgers & hot dogs- Licensed bar-Tombola- Afternoon tea in the banqueting room- Some interesting gift & craft stalls- Telford & District Amateur Radio Society will be operating a special event station- Any visitors can have a go and see how many countries they can speak to- The Shropshire Linux User Group will be demonstrating 3D printing and other technologies- Local model railway and engineering clubs will be exhibiting- The Bishops Castle Railway Society and Scalextric will also be racing on our super large track. Registration: Due to the success of recent years, and because space is limited, this year exhibitors must register their cars in advance – although there will be no charge for show vehicles.

Mixed Traction Day

Come along for a ride on a number of steam and diesel trains operating along the line. Following on from our highly popular Spring Diesel Festival, a selection of the visiting diesel locomotives will be operating alongside our normal steam and diesel services.
